Soooo, I listened to a sermon where a pastor mentioned that masturbation was a sin. I looked up, biblical verses about masturbation, and this is what I found.....

Here are just a few of the verses.

OpenBible.info Geocoding Topical Bible Labs Blog What does the Bible say about ?100 Bible Verses about Masturbation Galatians 5:16 ESV / 741 helpful votes But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 ESV / 701 helpful votes For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you knows how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; 1 Peter 2:11 ESV / 608 helpful votes Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. James 1:14-15 ESV / 586 helpful votes But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death. Matthew 5:28 ESV / 466 helpful votes But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Some of you who are biblically literate, religious, and/or Christians, may choose to believe that indulging in actions that involve pleasing the flesh is an abomination to God. You may feel that focusing on your sexual pleasure is sinful and " a war against the soul".

You may feel that reaching a climax or having an orgasm (yes, there is a difference between the two) is sacrilegious.

First of all, bible verses must be considered based on the context in which they were written. Also, literal interpretation can often be misleading. I will not go into a religious rant about my beliefs, but I do believe the distraction of lust can lead to superficial illusions of love, and extreme indulgence in sex may be a coping mechanism, an indication of self- loathing or lack self-esteem. However; being told that I can not touch myself and enjoy it, has never made sense to me. So, moving on from religion, I will continue with my perspective.

By logic, I have the ability to use my hands and fingers to shampoo my hair, wash my body, rub lotion on my body, massage my scalp, rub ointment on a scar, or scratch an itch...... Speaking of scratching an itch; I can't touch my clit?

In relation to so many vital, devastating matters in the world and your life, you may be wondering, "Why in the world would I be concerned or interested in masturbating when I have family, work, health, ministerial concerns or other important responsibilities??

Well, I will tell you why. Your well-being, joy, and self-confidence are important. It's easy to feel that your time, finances, obligations and religion are in the forefront of your mind and priorities. How can you possibly consider pleasing yourself important in the scheme of things? You have the right to make yourself feel good in a healthy manner. After a full day of taking care of your children ( even if they are in their 20's), dealing with work demands, relationship stress, and societal concerns, why are you not allowed to find some relief by reaching physical?

Being familiar with your body and how it responds to stimulating touch is freeing.

Why would you be ashamed, uncomfortable, or embarrassed about looking at or touching your clitoris and knowing where your G-Spot is located? If you don't know what feels good to you, how can you confidently express your needs and desires to your sexual mate? Whether you use your finger, vibrator or a pillow (you know, you know that method), you deserve some relief.

So for those of you who have never masturbated, I realize that there may be hesitation in how to start. I say, doing it alone where you won't be disturbed is best for your first time. Later on, consider letting your partner watch can be very erotic as well!

Sometimes masturbation requires using your imagination to put you in a relaxed, yet aroused mind set to enjoy the physical stimulation. Some may also require or just like the added benefit of using a lubricant, like the Original Pjur, Lubricants can be enjoyed by anyone, all the time; not just to remedy vaginal dryness. Most quality lubes, relax the muscles and aid in bringing moisture, which men love and you will appreciate! It can make intercourse more enjoyable and masturbation easier for some. The most important thing to focus on when touching yourself, either with your finger(s) or a device is to know where you are sensitive.

Be patient while touching yourself, because reaching climax is a journey to be enjoyed. The clitoral orgasm is the easiest to reach because it is easy to locate your clitoris. The G-Spot orgasm is one that is not as easy to reach, because body positioning and locating it may be a little tricky. It is also not easy to reach by using your own finger. A dildo or vibrator designed to hit the G-Spot is best to use for orgasm when masturbating.

I own and love the G-Gasm Vibrator (left). Click on It is powerful (a bit loud), can be used for clitoral or G-Spot stimulation. Feel free to click here to shop for other products that you think may be best for you to try.

For those who already feel comfortable with masturbation, I encourage you to try different types of vibrators.

There are water-proof vibrators you can use in the shower or when bathing. Or, try a dual purpose one that can stimulate your clitoris and G-Spot at the same time. Or, maybe your partner can play with you by using a vibrating panty toy. There are so many options to keep or begin making things more fun by your self or with someone else.

Don't be embarrassed or ashamed, enjoy the exploration.

It's all about loving your body, because your body rocks!
